David Malingha is Bloomberg’s East Africa Bureau Chief, where he oversees news coverage from the eastern and Horn of Africa region. Before that, Malingha led Bloomberg’s reporting on the Nigerian and East African economies. Malingha has overseen extensive coverage of events from the role of oil in Nigeria to conflict and risk in Ethiopia, Somalia and the Congo, the Kenyan economy, China’s Africa policy, commodities in Tanzania and Uganda and emerging technology industries in the region.
Malingha has served on boards of organizations including, Reproductive Health Uganda and the Nile Media Network.
Malingha has an MBA from Management University of Africa and BA Mass Communication from Makerere University.
