Dr Adetokunbo Shitta-Bey is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/Chief Medical Director (CMD), Duchess International Hospital, GRA Ikeja, Lagos; responsible (from inception) for the strategic direction and vision of the organisation and for leading transformation towards financial sustainability, strong governance and a culture of excellence and high-quality care.
His role ensures clinical and administrative coherence between the internal values of the organisation and external expectations of patients, caregivers, and the wider healthcare community; and strengthens service delivery accountability in relationships with regulators, client organisations, financial stakeholders, and the Board of Directors.
Dr Shitta-Bey is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP), UK, and holds MSc and MBA qualifications from King’s College London and Cranfield University School of Management respectively.
He has extensive administrative and clinical experience as an NHS primary care physician, medical director/clinical governance lead, and deanery educational supervisor. He has acquired further international experience in private and public sector healthcare leadership as a Consultant, Board Member, and Programme Director/Course Convenor of a successful Continuing Medical Education programme (the BeyHealth Masterclass in Nigeria.
He maintains a keen interest in military history, politics, and the evolution of modern democracies. His hobbies include writing, movies, musicals, and long-distance walking.
