Knowledge Sharing
In today’s world where business dynamics are constantly changing and evolving at a disruptive pace, every entrepreneur worth his/her salt must invest in learning on a continuing basis. Even in the fast-paced business world, start-up companies are faced with peculiar challenges.
To support the start-up community in Africa, Start-up Africa Clinic is committed to being a veritable platform for promoting knowledge sharing and cross-flow of ideas among entrepreneurs – both established and start-ups.
During the clinic – in addition to the business pitch sessions – experts, policymakers and successful entrepreneurs are always engaged to share insights on various issues that are critical to start-ups in particular and the business community in general.
Through the Start-up clinic, we intend to constantly energise the entrepreneurship ecosystem, provide opportunities for start-ups and aspiring entrepreneurs to connect with business networks, angel investors, venture capitalists and deal facilitators, etc.
Scaling Business
The factors, tools and skills required to scale a start-up company are largely different from what is required to start a new company or business. Many founders at the start-up stage are often bogged down with technical issues that do not emphasize scale. Yet, without understanding scaling, many companies fail faster than necessary.
Start-up Africa Clinic will also focus on helping start-up companies to scale to a whole new level by facilitating access to networks, necessary tools and skills.
Investment
Access to capital is a major headache many start-up companies face in Africa. And that makes building the capacity to raise capital an essential skill for any entrepreneur. As essential as the ability to raise capital is to entrepreneurs, access to capital does not guaranty business success.
Based on Start-up Africa Clinic’s commitment to pursuing a combination of things that support start-ups to succeed, we will provide opportunities for budding entrepreneurs to understand not just how to raise capital but also how to win with it.
We will offer tailored training and host meetings that help facilitate trust-building between start-ups and investors.
